I live in virginia. im selling my car to someone that lives in alaska?

the guy says hes driving it to chicago.. where his sister lives.. then a roll back is taking it through the canadian border... he says he needs my tags because otherwise they will think the car is stollen andwill take it... he says they dont use tags in alaska.. do i let hm use my tags .. how does this work.. i dont understand what he is talking about.. i dont know how alaska dmv works but i dnt know how to let him know that i cant let him have my tags... how would this work.. and how can i sell him my caar without looking like an idiot to him cus he doesnt understand
