What are some ways to approach people at a new school?

Hard one... when I was at a new school I found that the best way to meet people was to look happy (smiling and confident) alot and people would eventually want to talk to me. Otherwise I just kind of made conversation by asking questions about other people. People love to talk about themselves! Also I would just joke about things going on and hopefully make other people laugh. Good luck at your new school!
